22 kids join triathlon clinic

SOME 22 kids joined the first day of the Cebu Supertrikids National Grassroots Program (NAGP) Camp and organizers are expecting more in the second day today at the Plantation Bay Resort and Spa.
“We have about 22 kids pa kay naa pa class ron. More participants are expected to join tomorrow (toda),” said Triathlon Association of the Philippines (Trap) executive director Oscar Rodriguez.
The twenty-two kids went through a Bike Criterium five-kilometer time trial in the morning then a swim time trial in the afternoon followed by a lecture spearheaded by Trap’s coach Melvin Fausto.
“So far, the kids enjoyed the clinics. I have my students in swimming join the clinic and okay ang ila mga feedback,” said triathlete Loveneil Casidsid, who also teaches swimming.
Today, the participants will be doing a time trial in running in the morning then a swim aerobics in the afternoon and a lecture.
The three-day clinic is part of the Trap’s grassroots developmental program to identify potential triathletes for the developmental team.
