SOME 120 junior golfers are expected to join the eighth season of the Alta Vista Junior Golf Challenge on Oct. 29 - 31 at the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club (AVGC).
This was disclosed by newly-installed AVGC general manager Nimrod Quinones, who said they are expecting some of the top junior golfers from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
He added that they will try to retain the dominance of AVGC even with the departure of top golfer, Gio Gandionco, who will not be able to defend his Class A title.
Gandiongco is currently playing golf for Santa Clara University in California.
AVGCC will be banking on their other top players such as Korean David Parks in the Class A division, 13-year-old Wei-Wei Gao in Class B and Ericka Lim in the girls division.
Quiñones said that some 100 participants have confirmed, surpassing last year’s entry of 70 participants.
The tournament will have five classes for both the girls and boys division and a a special division for the 18-21 years old players.
