THE Philippine Football Federation (PFF) and Cebu Football Association (CFA) met with TV partner ABS-CBN to discuss the technical details for the coverage of the international friendly game, Face Off in Cebu City: Philippine Azkals vs. Singapore Lions on Nov. 15 at the Cebu City Sports Center.
The PFF’s Ebong Joson arrived along with ABS-CBN’s TV director Al Neri and a techincal team from the broadcast giant. Among the important matters discussed were the positioning of the TV cameras throughout the venue, the lighting requirements for a TV
production, and merchandising and advertising opportunities for the local sponsors.
Representing the CFA were Mike Veloso, Joey Herrera, Rodney Orale, Raffy Musni and Rico Navarro. Also present were Meyrick Jacalan, Perl Jacalan and Kathleen Pagente of Adversiting Services and Promotions, the event’s advertising partner.
“We’re pleased with the way the preparations for the game have been going, and we have enough time to finetune all technical requirements for Face Off,” Joson said. Among the important things discussed were the possibility of setting up the center camera on the opposite side of the grandstand along the wall of Abellana National School. This way, the coverage will have the spectators as a background instead of an empty wall if they set up the camera in the grandstand as practiced in previous coverages for boxing and the Sinulog.
Merchandising and advertising requirements were also discussed with regard to how and where to post the billboards, streamers and exhibit booths of the event’s sponsors.
All three sides agreed to provide the maximum exposure for all sponsors, considering that this is the first-ever international friendly game of the Azkals in the history of Cebu Fotball.
They also relayed that while sales of tickets is brisk, there are still many seats available. These are available at all SM Tickets outlets nationwide or online at www.smtickets.com.
“Ticket sales has been on an uptrend ever since we launched on Oct. 17, but there are many available seats for sale.” CFA’s Veloso said. (PR)
