THE Southwestern University Cobras will try to cap their Philippine Collegiate Champions League with a win when they take on San Beda College Red Lions in the battle for third place today at the Arena in San Juan City.

Their match is at 2 p.m. before Game 1 of the best-of-three finals series of the Ateneo Blue Eagles and University of Santo Tomas, which would be a rematch of the Universities Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) finals, which Ateneo won.

While UST looks to avenge its UAAP loss, SWU is also looking to retaliate its loss to San Beda in their first match of the tournament.

In that game, SWU lost by a hairline, 73-72. After overcoming a 20-point deficit, it went down to the final few seconds when SWU had 11 ticks to win the game. They however failed to make a crucial shot that gave the victory to San Beda.

SWU is still riding on the momentum of their overtime win over league leader UST last Sunday.

SWU will be banking heavily on Cameroonian Benoit Mbala, who led the way for SWU with 41 points and 16 rebounds against UST.
