CFA willing to host another Azkals match

THE CEBU Football Association (CFA) is more than willing to host another international friendly this summer as a follow up to its hosting of the Singapore vs. Philippines match last year.
But this will still depend on the call of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF).
“Nag-agad ra gyud mi sa PFF, basta kita sa Cebu kay willing ta mu-host usab. I-check pa man na nila asa pabor ang duwa,” said CFA tournament chairperson Glenn Quisido.
Aside from Cebu, other possible venues for friendly matches in the Philippines are the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila or the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod.
The proposed friendly match—which could either be in March or April—could be against Thailand or Vietnam.
If it will be held in early March, it could serve as another tune-up game for the national team as the Philippines will compete in 2014 Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup Group E Qualifiers with Turkmenistan, Cambodia and Brunei.
Quisido said that the board will be willing and ready to go through the same stress in hosting if the friendly game will push through or even if the Challenge Cup will be held in Cebu.
Meanwhile, as part of restoring the field, the board had already discussed with Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) Manager Ricky Ballesteros that after the Thirsty Cup Football Festival, there will be no longer 7 a-side games allowed.
