Mactan, Rebels win in Sinulog Softball Cup debut

MACTAN Enerzone and Rebels Softball Club won their opening matches in the 2013 Sinulog Cup Men’s Open Softball at the Labangon Elementary School grounds yesterday.
Enerzone scored an easy 12-1 regulation win in just four innings over Tisa Jewellers in Bracket B, while the Rebels eked an equally dominating 10-4 win over Boycie in Bracket A.
Enerzone had a slow start as it took them two innings before scoring their runs. Ben Arkonsil, John Magno and Roldan Bacarisas made it 3-0 at the top of the third inning before Ryan Pantorillas scored the Jewellers’ lone run.
That heated up things for Enerzone as they scored nine runs, and the game was called off under the mercy rule after the Jewellers failed to score at the bottom of the fourth.
The Rebels scored three runs each in the second, third and sixth inning.
