‘Mbala stays’

SOUTHWESTERN University (SWU) athletic director Ryan Aznar denied reports their prized Cameroonian recruit Benoit Mbala will transfer to a UAAP member school.
Aznar said there is no truth to the rumors that Mbala will be leaving the school for the De La Salle University Green Archers.
“There’s no truth to that report. If they are really interested in Ben, they should talk to the school. But so far nobody came to us regarding that matter,” Aznar told Sun.Star Cebu.
Although there is a possibility of Mbala getting recruited without their knowledge, Aznar is confident SWU will not be blindsided by any deals.
“We have all of his and Justine Aboude’s documents. Their records and credentials as well as their passports. If they will do it that way, we will not release the record and documents. And that means, they cannot play,” said Aznar.
Aznar sad they are willing to negotiate for the release of Mbala as long as the interested party observes protocol and procedures.
According to Aznar, Mbala is now annoyed because many people approach him to ask if he will be transferring to DLSU or any team from Manila.
“Reklamo na gani si Ben nako kay na annoyed na siya. Daghan daw kaayo mangutana niya.
So far, I will repeat, if they are interested in Ben or any of our players they should talk directly to us not through the players or any of those who are close to them,” Aznar said.
Mbala confirmed he was approached by team scouts from Manila but that was way back in November when SWU played in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) Final Four.
