TEAM Cebu Y101’s Warren Davadilla pulled the team to sixth place in the overall team standing after finishing third yesterday in the third stage of the 2013 LBC Ronda Pilipinas.
Stage 3 was won by Randy Roque of American Vinyl/LPGMA, who completed the 137.8-kilometer race from Pagadian City to Iligan City in 3:17.51. Roque was followed by Team PLDT/Spyder’s Ronald Oranza in 3:18:03, while Davadilla was third in 3:18:03.
Roque also leads the over-all standing for the best young rider title. Last year it was won by Cebu’s 20-year-old John Mier, a member of the LBC developmental team who is now racing with team PLDT/Spyder.
The 33-year-old Davadilla, who is the team skipper, did not expect to have a podium finish due to a very tight race.
“I didn’t expect naka podium finish ako. Masaya kahit papano,” said Davadilla, who is from Valenzuela. Last year, he also made two podium finishes in Vigan and Quezon.
Davadilla was the Marlboro Tour International Champion in 1998 and in 2005.
