Pagara wins 15th bout

“PRINCE” Albert Pagara scored his 15th career win with an impressive stoppage over journeyman Jilo Merlin in the main event of ALA-Cobra Tunay na Lakas Sinulog boxing event at the Gaisano Country Mall parking lot last Sunday night.
The 18-year-old Pagara stopped Merlin in the 1:38 mark of the third round with vicious shots to the body.
Pagara improved to 15-0 with 11 knockouts, while Merlin dropped to 12-15-2 with two knockouts.
Philippine light flyweight champion Jerson Mancio (17-3-3, 7 KOs) ended Gerpaul Valero’s (13-14-3, 9 KOs) Cinderella run with a unanimous decision win in the main supporting bout earning scores of 96-94, 96-94, and 97-93.
Valero started his career with a dismal 1-13-3 slate but won his next 12 fights.
In the undercard, 19-year-old Jimmy Paypa (11-2, 3 KOs) won the biggest fight of his career with a unanimous decision over former Pan Asian Boxing Association light flyweight titleholder Marvin Tampus (27-17-2, 18 KOs).
