THERE won’t be much work to be done in order to rehabilitate the Cebu City Sports Center field, which was used during the Sinulog activities that ended last weekend.
CCSC manager Ricky Ballesteros, who is also the Sinulog Foundation executive director, said there’s nothing to worry about the field rehabilitation as only the part where the stage was mounted was affected with the revelry last weekend.
The other areas of the field were not affected as they decided to fence it. Right now, they have already removed the stage, exposing the grass to sunlight keep it dry.
“Dili ra kaayo daghan buhaton, pa initan ra balik and do the usual routine,” said Ballesteros.
He once again emphasized the maintenance policies of the field which includes the interval usage of it.
Abellana National School has the privilege to use the pitch but should be on an every other day basis.
As an added measure, the CCSC will also no longer allow football festivals.
“Dili na siya magamit for festivals kay dali maguba ang field,” said Ballesteros.
The Thirsty Cup Football will be the last tournament to use the field for festival-type games.
This move was also supported by the Cebu Football Association, which also wants to have its major tournaments at the CCSC.
Ballesteros also said that the field is not only used for football matches but also for other events.
“Almost every weekend kay busy ang field kay multi-purpose ni siya, it’s also intended for other activities,” he said.
