Don Bosco shows muscle in Aboitiz Cup

DON Bosco (DB) teams piled up the most victories yesterday in the 15th Aboitiz FootballCup at the Aboitiz Sportsfield.
The football powerhouse school logged eight wins in four different divisions. DB, however, also had five losses in the same day.
DB had two wins in the Boys-14 division after DB-1 blanked Hijas de Jesus, 3-0, while DB-2 had an identical 3-0 margin over University of San Carlos (USC)-BED.

Ray Lazaga led DB-1 with two goals, while Angel Impas added another goal. Vincent Lovitos scored two goals, while Angelo Ouano added a goal for Don Bosco-2.

DB Razkals won over Centre for International Education (CIE) via default, while DB-2 demolished Holy Infant, 14-0, in the Boys-12 division.

DB-1 routed USC-BED, 2-0, in the Players-10 class, while DB-4 and DB-3 beat DB-D and San Roque FC-A, 8-0 and 3-1 respectively.
In other games, University of Cebu drew with the University of the Visayas, 3-3, in the Under-23 category.

Abellana National School-Pomeroy was victorious against Sprigdale, 1-0, in the Boys-14 division, while Bright Academy won by default over CIE.

In the Boys-12 class, Bright Academy defeated BMALV by default; Giuseppe crushed SRP FC, 5-0; Ateneo overwhelmed DB-3, 11-0; and Cebu International School (CIS) routed Springdale, 1-0.

St. John Kenty crushed CIE-A, 7-3; CIS drew with Bright Academy, 1-1; Ateneo-A flattened CIE-B, 7-0; and Warzhouckz outclassed CPMS 14-0 in the Players 10 category.

In the Players 8 division, Consolacion trampled DB-F, 5-0; USC-BED massacred DB-B, 9-0; Hijas de Jesus beat Bright by default; BMALV pounded Bright-A, 3-0; and Canduman outgunned DB-E, 6-0.

In today’s games, 38- and-above squads Queen City United and Erco FC take on each other in the opening game at 7:30 a.m., while FC Inter Cebu faces off with Toledo Harumi. Avenger FC will face DBU FC-A and Crazy Horse will take on DBU FC-B.
