SHS-AdC pulls off twinkill in CYBL

SACRED Heart School—Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) grabbed two titles, while the University of the Visayas (UV) snagged back-to-back crowns in the Cebu Youth Basketball League – ThreeSixty Pharmacy Cup 2013 over the weekend.
SHS-AdC upset No. 1 ranked University of San Carlos (USC) North to win the Under-10 crown via 42-33 rout, while its elder squad captured the Under-13 crown with a 58-41 thrashing over UV.
In the Under-10 final, USC took an early 8-2 lead but SHS-AdC rallied to take the lead at halftime, 19-12. USC cut down SHS-AdC’s advantage to just three points, 23-20, going into the final quarter.
Robert Mayam and Daleandre Singson, the son of ex-PBA player Dale Singson, came out to the fourth quarter scorching hot and scored the team’s first 12 points for a 35-26 lead, outscoring USC, 12-6, with four minutes left. Uriel Avila then took over and made it a 39-28 ballgame with two minutes remaining. Avila and Mayam were SHS-AdC’s top scorers with 14 points each, while Singson added 11.
