AFTER dropping its first loss, the New Millennium Hardware ’95 got back to winning with a 77-57 bashing of the Best World Lifestyle 2004 in the ongoing Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Friday night at the CEC gym.
Joseph James Yu had a splendid performance, finishing the game one assist away from a triple double. He had 18 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists in leading Class ’95 to a quick workout as early as the first minute of the game.
Smarting from its first loss to Dewfoam ’88 last Tuesday that ended its 10-game winning streak, New Millennium started the first quarter with a 16-8 run before dropping a crippling 22-12 blast in the third period en route to its 20-point win.
Donald Anthony Ting had 18 points and Raymond Gollon contributed 11 points for Class ’95, while Emmanuel Chan scored the game high 20 points as Class 2004 slipped to 5-5.
Frito 2003 also rebounded from a previous loss and whipped the unsuspecting PTT 2005, 68-56.
Joey Catipay scattered 16 points on top of four rebounds and two assists and Philip Judd Veneracion and Irene Ferdinan Lague added 10 points each to help Class 2003 improve to 8-3.
Kent Benedict Uy scored the game-high 25 points as Class 2005 suffered its eighth setback against only two victories.
