THE Siso sisters will be making a comeback in age-group tennis in this year’s 18th Gullas Cup, which will kick off on April 11 at the Cebu International Tennis Center in Consolacion, Cebu.
Cebu’s former top age grouper Sallydine and Sally Mae are among those former age groupers who have confirmed participation in this year’s 21-under division.
“I was so happy when I learned that I will get a chance to play again in an age group tournament and see old friends again,” said the 18-year-old Sally Mae, who was awarded by the Sportswriters Association of Cebu (SAC) with the Orlacsan Awards last Sunday.
Her older brother, another top player, will have to skip the tournament because of summer classes.
Sally Mae is also trying to make adjustments so she can manage her time playing and taking summer classes.
“With this development, it can boost the morale of those young adult tennis players as there is another tournament to look forward to after inter-collegiate leagues,” Sally Mae said.
Another top junior tennis player Israel Abarquez, who is currently ranked 13th in the men’s tennis division has also confirmed along with Amiel Aya-ay, Fritz Satera, Dane Edeullantes from Mindanao, Jet-Jet Pintor among others.
