Dino wins 3rd gold in Paragames

STA. Cruz--As expected veterans Arnel Aba and Ernie Gawilan won two golds each at the start of the swimming competition in the 2nd Philippine Sports Commission- Philippine Sports Association for the Differently Abled (PSC-Philsapda) Para National Games at the Laguna Sports Complex aquatic center.
But it was newcomer Arman Dino of Cebu Province, a victim of “Super Lolo” in 1992, who shone as he annexed the men’s T46 200-m dash with a time of 25.58 seconds to become the meet’s triple gold medalist. The 28-year-old Mandaue City-born Dino earlier won the men’s T46 400-m run (58.58-sec) and 100-m dash (11.81-sec).
Also securing his second gold was newcomer Roberto Soto of Nueva Vizcaya, who brought home the gold in the men’s F41 discuss throw in 8.99-meter. His first gold came from the men’s 56-kg. category in powelifting during the first day of competition.
Aba of Iligan City, a gold medalist in the 2010 World Games in India, ruled the men’s 400-m freestyle class S9 with a time of 5:29.50 seconds and later in the day dominated the men’s 100-m backstroke class S9 in 1:20.25-seconds. But not to be outdone, the 20-year-old Gawilan of Davao City clocked 5:16.78 to win the men’s 400-m freestyle class S8 and topped the men’s 100-m backstroke class S8 in 1:26.211.
