AFTER three seasons, the Executive Boutique Lycans finally scored their first victory in the CSCC E-League 2013 Season basketball tournament at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym last Saturday.
And they didn’t even have to break a sweat to end their losing streak as the ASI Hardbacks forfeited their match.
“ASI notified us in advance that they will no longer play their last game, thus giving Executive Boutique their first ever win in the league by forfeit,” E-League organizer Rey Fuentes said.
The final elimination round games, however, had Eperformax Reds stamping their class over the 1&1 Marauders, 99-72, and the Accenture Sharks beating the Teleperformance Lions, 72-64, in the main game.
The victory improved Eperformax’s win-loss record to 6-4, while Accenture solidified its hold of the No.1 spot in the Southern Conference with a 9-1 slate.
Robert Gilo scored the game -high 27 points on top of 11 rebounds and two assists.
Raymond Tan added 18. Patrick Ybañez made 15, Alejandro Ruiz and Nolan de la Pena contributed 11 points to help the Reds take the No. 4 spot. They will play top seed Aegis Vipers in the Northern Conference playoffs.
Meanwhile, former University of Cebu Webmasters Archie Batua scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to help the Sharks secure the No.1 spot.
Batua got the needed help from Jasper Loreto, who scored 20 points.
