UV, USC set title showdown in Milo-A A +A

THE University of the Visayas (UV) and the University of San Carlos (USC) set another title showdown in the Passerelle division of the Milo Best Center SBP Passerelle Twin Tournament Cebu leg for the second straight year after both teams won their semifinal games over the weekend.
UV, the defending champions, routed Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC), 54-30, while 2012 runner-up USC beat Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC), 58-48.
UV immediately dictated the pace of the game and took a 21-10 lead with Josua Flores scoring 15 in the first quarter. UV increased the lead to 15 points at halftime, 33-18.
UV held DBTC to just five points and had a comfortable 25-point lead, 48-23, going into the final period. Flores was the top scorer for UV with 17 points.
USC also got off to a quick start and led 13-5 at the end of the first quarter, before padding it to 12, 28-16, at the halftime break.
USC had a steady third quarter and maintained the lead going into the fourth, 45-33.
SHS-AdC started to pick up the pace with its three-point shooting but it was too late. Clint Octaviano led USC with 10 points.
Meanwhile, in the CYBL D-League results, St. Benedict Child Learning Center captured its second victory in the Under-10 division with a 25-23 win over DBTC-B, while University of San Jose-Recoletos beat USC South, 36-28.
In the SBP division, USC North-B won against DBTC-C, 57-24; USC South-B crushed Virgen de las Escuelas Pias School, 63-31; USC North-C topped St. Benedict, 36-24; and USJ-R-B edged out DBTC-B, 29-27.
In the Passerelle division, SHS-AdC-C thrashed DBTC-B, 50-28, while Thumbs Up 2 scored a 63-60 win over USC North-B.
