CDU gives USPF zero chance-A A +A

THE gritty team of Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU) thrashed the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) in three straight sets, 25-19,25-17, 25-12, to advance in the semi-finals next week of the women’s collegiate volleyball tournament in the Cebu Schools Athletics Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) at the USPF Gym.
CDU, backed by Fr. Rolando Manayon, is composed of former Pajo National High School players who are considered one of the strongest teams in Cebu.
Athena Sucalit, a former Palarong Pambansa player, led the team with a 4-1 win-loss record.
The team lost against to the powerhouse of Southwestern University (SWU) Lady Cobras, which is leading the over-all standing with 5-0, followed by CDU and University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) with 3-2. The remaining slot will still be contested.
The remaining game in the women’s collegiate will be between USPF against University of Cebu (UC) to be played tonight at 6 p.m.
In the girls secondary division, University of San Carlos (USC) beat USPF, 25-19,25-20.
