RIVALS in the BPO football scene will band together for a cause on Sunday at the Don Bosco Technology Center field in Labangon.
The NCR football club, one of the top teams in the inter-company division, will be joined by 13 other companies in the Fight for Reivin football tournament.
The tournament will have 20 teams in the men’s division and eight teams in the women’s division.
Organizer Lehmar Baunsit, who plays for NCR, says the tournament aims to raise funds to help pay for the chemotherapy session of three-year-old Rei Vincent, who is suffering from cancer.
“Each chemotherapy session, which includes medicines and lab tests, is estimated to cost around P45,000, thus requiring the family to raise P180,000 to cover the next four sessions. To help his parents, the NCR football club is organizing a football tournament...the entire proceeds of this tournament will go to Baby Reivin’s operation funds,” Baunsit, who works with Reivin’s father, said in an e-mail to Sun.Star Cebu.
The companies who have signed up for the seven-a-side tournament are Convergys, Stream, IBM, Tieto, Author Solutions, Accenture, NKC, SSI, Timex, Lear, Lexmark, NCR and Leylam Shawarma.
