'Pacquiao will be better than ever'-A A +A

CEBU -- After a long layoff following a knockout loss to Mexican rival Juan Manuel Marquez in his last fight, Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao has renewed his vigor and will be in one of the best shapes of his career in his comeback bout next month.
Top Rank head honcho Bob Arum, who is here in the Philippines to check out the training camp of his prized fighter, was impressed with what he has seen and expects the best Manny Pacquiao to step foot in the ring against American banger Brandon Rios on November 23 at the Cotai Arena in Macau.
“Manny, to me, looks more dedicated than ever and General Santos City is the perfect place for him to train. He concentrates on nothing but his training and I think the Manny Pacquiao you are going to see on Nov. 23 is going to be perhaps better than the Manny Pacquiao we saw against (Oscar) de la Hoya, (Ricky) Hatton and (Miguel) Cotto,” Arum said in a report posted in fightnews.com.
Unlike before, Pacquiao is holding his training camp at the Pacman’s Wild Card Gym in General Santos City. He usually trains for a fight at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles.
“My training for this fight has been unique and my training camp has been very long for this fight. My preparation has been going very well so I think it is going to be an exciting fight. I have given over 100 percent for this fight,” said Pacquiao.
Pacquiao can’t afford to lose again after straight losses last year-- a controversial split decision to Timothy Bradley and a sixth round knockout in the hands of Marquez.
The 27-year-old Rios should be Pacquiao’s ticket back to the top, because a win could earn him a possible rematch with Bradley.
“That’s what I want – his style of fighting. He likes to come inside and I like that style. I don’t like to chase and I’m pretty sure I won’t have to chase him,” said Pacquiao referring to Rios’ style. “The key to winning the fight is to train hard and to focus while in training. Focus on my speed and power so I am ready when I get into the ring.” (Sun.Star Cebu)
