AFTER getting postponed due to the recent super typhoon, the Cebu Schools Athletics Foundation (Cesafi) beach volley tournament will finally kick-off this morning at the Southwestern University (SWU) beach volleyball sand court.
The tournament, originally scheduled last Nov. 9 and 10, will have five men’s team and three women’s team. The teams in the men’s division are host SWU, University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF), University of the Visayas (UV), University of San Jose Recoletos and Cebu Institute of Technology University (CIT-U).
Last year, USPF dethroned the SWU Lady Cobras for the women’s, while the newly formed SWU men’s team shocked the field and beat the veteran-laden USPF to win the men’s title.
According to Cesafi volleyball tournament manager Ryan Aznar, the tournament will run for two days.
The men’s division will play a single round robin with the top four advancing to the semifinals, while the women’s division will have a double round robin and the top two team will advance to the finals.
The University of Cebu (UC), University of San Carlos (USC) and Cebu Doctors University (CDU) skipped this year’s tournament.
