Emax, Volleyholics win volleyball for a cause-A A +A

NINE volleyball squads competed against each other to give a helping hand to the victims of typhoon Yolanda in a two-day tournament.
Eperformax walked away with the men’s title, while Volleyholics snagged the women’s crown in Innodata Sports – “Spike for a Cause” at the Innodata Multi-Purpose Court at the HVG IT Park in Subangdaku, Mandaue City over the weekend.
Eperformax beat Skywalkers in four sets, 29-27, 25-20, 17-25, 25-20. Eperformax took the first two sets 29-27 and 25-20. Skywalkers then stole the third set 25-17, before
bowing down to Eperformax in the next set, 25-20.
The women’s championship match was also close with Volleyholics taking the first two sets 25-23 and 25-11. Innodata took the third set 25-18 before losing the fourth to Volleyholics 25-14.
Eperformax’s Angellan Visoc was named as the most valuable player in the men’s division. Vance Fernandez of Skywalkers was the Best Spiker, while Arlo Millang of Eperformax was named the Best Blocker.
For the Women’s division, Volleyholics Lori Mae Layno was declared the MVP, her teammate Mona Dubduban was named as the Best Spiker, while Innodata’s Apple Saraum was the Best Bolcker.
Each of the participating teams handed rice, canned goods and water as registration for the tournament.
The goods will be handed to the Typhoon Yolanda victims of the northern part of Cebu particularly Bgy. Sungko, Santa Fe, Bantayan Island.
