YAW-YAN Ardigma warriors Renan Noblefranca and Jordan Balcita made their mark on American soil after impressive knockout wins last Saturday in the “Knuckle Up” kickboxing show in Vallejo, California.
Noblefranca, the reigning Yaw-Yan Fighting Challenge Championship (YFCC) super featherweight titleholder, stopped American Kenny Epstein in the second round, while Balcita ended American Sergio Ramirez’s night in the opening round.
Noblefranca attacked Epstein aggressively and landed an array of heavy punches and kicks. However, Noblefranca was too much for Epstein and the fight was stopped by the referee.
Balcita, on the other hand, was not as aggressive as Noblefranca. He received a few strikes from Ramirez. However, a well-timed straight back kick that landed on the midsection cut Ramirez’s night short.
“They were tough but we already knew how to deal with them. I am just glad we showed them what Yaw-Yan fighters can do,” said Johnlery Caniga, who accompanied both fighters to the US. “This is just the start. We are planning to participate in more kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts tournaments here in the US next year.”
