BARANGAY Taptap will host the Cebu50 Trail Ultramathon on Jan. 26 to help promote their place.

The race is organized by Miles Sports headed by race organizer Cirilo “Blue” Tradio.

“We decided to organize a trail ultra running since many road runners are interested to do trail running. At the same time, this can also help promote the local tourism in the mountain barangays of Cebu,” said Tradio.

Tradio added that there are over 600 ultra runners in Cebu and most are looking for other challenges such as trail running.

However, they are expecting fewer than 30 ultra runners who will join this race including former mountain biker Marites Bitbit, who is making a name in Hong Kong as a trail runner.

Registration started last Dec. 12 and will end this Jan. 15. Registration fee is P1,500.
