Innodata, Accenture battle for title in Aboitiz Cup

INNODATA and Accenture will clash in the finals of the BPO Men’s division after winning their respective semi-final matches yesterday in the 16th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field.

Innodata beat Lexmark, 1-0, behind a goal by Darwin Bordalba from a free kick in the 13th minute.

Accenture continues its unbeaten romp with a 3-1 victory over Convergys.

Accenture was aggressive on the offensive end early on, scoring three goals in the first 18 minute of the match.

Earl Mondero drew first blood with a goal in the sixth minute. Cris De Los Santos struck a minute after and hit another in the 18th minute.

Accenture conceded a goal in the 38th compliments of Lowell Sabijon.

Innodata and Accenture face off in the BPO Men's championship on Feb. 9, while Convergys takes on Lexmark in a battle for third match.

On the other hand, Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) settled to a 1-1 draw with Continental AFS in the Under-23 division.

Christopher Ngwata hit the back of the net in the 33rd minute for a 1-0 lead.

Jet Araujo, however, would score the equalizer later in the match in the 73rd minute.

Leylam also drew with University of the Visayas (UV), 1-1, in the other Under-23 match.

Karlo Cuizon gave UV the early lead after scoring a goal in the 11th minute. But Luis Garciano would answer back with a goal in the 53rd minute.

In the Men’s Open division, Cebu Amateur Football Club settled to a 1-1 draw with Magone, while Erco outclassed Avengers, 8-2.

Erco beat JEH United, 1-0, in the only match of 38-and-Above category.

In the Inter Company division, T-United defeated Arkiteks United, 2-0; Erco FC won against Leylam FC, 1-0; and San Miguel drew with Kalayaan Engineering, 2-2.

In the BPO Ladies category, Accenture edged out Lexmark, 2-1, while NCR crushed Convergys, 3-0.
