Rising Sun routs Don Bosco, 8-0-A A +A

RISING Sun shone brightly in their Men’s Open match yesterday in the 16th Aboitiz Football Cup and scored a 8-0 win over Don Bosco United FC (DBUFC) at the Aboitiz Sports Field.
Masahiko Yagi, Kentarou Nakamura and Adrian Flores had two goals each, while Yoshikimi Maeno and Kenta Kobayashi added a goal each for Rising Sun.
In the other Men’s Open match, Samba defeated KTEC Trading, 2-0.
St. Theresa’s College (STC) continued its romp in the Girls Under-18 division with an easy win over Cebu International School (CIS), 6-0.
Alyssa Monteclaro, Angelica Campugan, Jahannah Gerobiese, Tara Musni, Angelica Estevanoz and Karina Curvo scored a goal apiece for STC.
Joshua Shields displayed an impressive offensive performance to lift Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) past Phoenix FC, 2-0.
Shields converted an early goal in the second minute. He added another one after halftime with a long shot in the 48th minute.
Kevlar-Queen City United was victorious over Hiroshi FC, 3-0, in the only 38-and-Above match of the day.
Yagi, who played for Rising Sun earlier, hit the opening goal in the 22nd. Eddie Torreverde added another in the 37th minute for a 2-0 lead at halftime. Leon Ouano Jr. sealed the game after hitting the back of the net in the 60th minute.
In the Under-11 category, Warzhockz Famball drew with Consolacion FC, 1-1; University of San Carlos (USC)-BED defeated SHS-AdC, 4-2; and San Roque FC outclassed CPMS, 3-0.
In the Under-9 division, USC-BED settled to 1-1 draw with DBTC-2; DBTC-B scored a 12-0 landslide over CPMS; CIS scored a 3-0 default win over DBTC-1; and Giuseppe FC also walked away with a 3-0 default victory over DBTC-C.
