Lagcao rules 15th Sinulog Bowling Open-A A +A

SAM LAGCAO leaned on a strong showing in the middle games to rule the 15th BTA-Cebu Sinulog Open National Tournament at the Gaisano Bowlingplex last Jan. 26.
Lagcao, who plays for Cetba-Prima, scored 2,675 to beat Clarence Tiu of BTA Prima by 140 pinfalls.
Lagcao had a slow start, opening with 150 and 172, trailing Tiu by 110 pinfalls in the first two games.
However, he slowly chipped away the lead with a 206 ini the third to Tiu’s 173 and rolled 253 in the fourth to Tiu’s 201 to narrow the gap and eventually finished the 12-game series with an average of 222.92.
Xyrra Cabusas, also of BTA Prima, finished third with 2,503 and had a best of 211 in the eighth game, while Oscar Ornopia got fourth place with 2,485.
He was just two pinfalls ahead of Heber Alqueza, who averaged 206.92 and had an impressive 268 in the 11th game.
The rest of the top 10 finishers are Davao Tenpin Bowling Association’s (DATBA) Crystal Chavez (2,481), BTA’s Dodong Dante (2,464), BTA-Prima Andrew Yap and BTA’s Pol Torremillano Sr. tied at 9th place with 2,466 pinfalls each and BTA’s Ed Aninon (2,444).
In the team event, Kim Lao, Alexis Sy and Lagcao grabbed the title with 1,317 pinfalls.
