CEBUANO banger Joseph Ronald Quiñahan is hoping to join his teammates the soonest possible time.
The veteran center of the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters is being sidelined because of a knee injury that requires some time to heal.
Although not a career-threatening injury, the former University of the Visayas Green Lancer center was diagnosed to have a meniscus (cartilage of the knee) injury, which he suffered during the semifinals of the Philippine Cup.
“Gi rest ra ni nako (during the Finals of the Philippine Cup), pero nibalik siya og sakit kay wala man pahuway sa Finals. Mao to nga gipa check up unya gi-recommend nga mag pa therapy ko,” Quiñahan told Sun.Star Cebu.
He underwent therapy every day in hope that he could join his team in the ongoing Commissioner’s Cup tournament.
“Ganahan na ko modula balik. Pero ingon ang doctor nga ipa therapy lang usa until ok na ni,” added Quinahan.
Last Sunday, RoS lost to Barako Bull, 110-106, with Quiñahan watching from the sidelines.
To take Quiñahan’s place, coach Yeng Guiao had activated guard Jonathan Uyloan.
Quinahan is hoping to play on March 15, when the Elasto Painters plays the Alaska Aces in Araneta Coliseum.
