Run for Climate Change set in June-A A +A

TO spread the message about climate change, the Cebu Climate Change Association Inc. (CCCAI) will host a running event dubbed as “Dagan Para Sa Kalikupan” on June 1 at the Parkmall grounds in Mandaue City.
CCCAI president Engr. Alan C. Dinampo said it is a run, which will support the national greening project.
Dinampo was joined by Engr. Danilo Alfornon, the vice-president for external affair of CCCAI, Cebu Equal Trading’s Oscar Yu, VP for internal affairs Engr. Jojo Flores and CCCAI secretary Mercedes Yamit in the press conference yesterday.
“We initiated to have this run because we believe this is the ideal venue for information dissemination, which we hope can attract more than a 1,000 participants,” said Dinampo.
Dinampo added that they want to create more awareness about climate change and that everyone needs to play a vital role in preserving the environment. With this, participants are asked to bring seedlings.
“We encourage the participants to bring seedlings with them but it’s not mandatory,” said Flores.
Flores added that they will gather the seedlings and put these at their nursery area then plant these on one of their project sites such as in Toledo.
The run will feature a men’s and women’s 3K, 5K and 10K distances. The registration fee is pegged at P350 for the 3K, P400 for the 5K and P500 for the 10K. Registration centers will be at the Runnr Ayala and at Parkmall.
