MANILA—Philippine Cup titlist San Mig Coffee tries to remain unbeaten when it takes on the slumping Barako Bull Tuesday in the lone game at 8 p.m of the 39th Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner’s Cup elimination round at the Araneta Coliseum.
San Mig Coffee, which managed to keep their energy going strong despite a grueling all-Filipino cup Finals last month, is one of two unbeaten teams in the import-laden conference with a 3-0 slate.
Talk ‘N Text is the other undefeated squad with a clean 6-0 card and the Texters are now assured of a quarterfinals berth following a 94-87 win over Ginebra last Sunday.
James Yap, Peter June Simon, Mark Barroca, Marc Pingris and Joe Devance are again expected to provide the needed support to import James Mays, who averaged 20.67 points on top of 16.67 rebounds, 1.33 assists, 1.33 steals and 1.33 blockshots a game in three matches with the Coffee Mixers.
Mays will surely have his hands full against Joshua Dollard, who averages 36 points.
