THE second leg of the Man and Machine Supercross Series will blast off today with more than 100 riders vying for the title at the back of San Pedro Calungsod Templete at the South Road Properties starting at 1 p.m.

Cebuano top rider Jon-Jon Adlawan and the other top motocross racers will be playing catch-up to early leader Decsi Balazs of Hungary in the Pro Open category. Balazs showed too much power and won the two heats and earned a total of 50 points in the first leg held last month.

However, Adlawan will have to face not only Balazs but last year’s Rider of the Year awardee Glenn Aguilar and Rhowell “Burnok” Mangusong.

Aguilar was not able to join the first leg as he was committed to join a race in Ipil, Zamboanga-Sibugay race, while Mangusong found trouble in two heats.

The Davao City-based Mangusong was head-to-head with Adlawan in the first heat when he miscalculated the inside turn, forcing him to drop out.

In the second heat, Mangusong was at the head of the lead pack but encountered technical trouble, forcing him to pit stop. Although was able to return to the race, he was five laps behind the lead pack of Adlawan, Balazs and the other Cebuano ace rider Jubenile Abellar.

In both heats, Adlawan was ahead but lost the lead to Balazs.
