COACH Glenn Ramos and the Don Bosco Technological Center added another title to their growing collection after winning the Under 23 division of the Aboitiz Cup.
Don Bosco leaned on the golden boot of Christopher Ngwanta for their 5-0 win over Subangdako in the finals, completing their undefeated run in the division.
Ngwanta, the top scorer in the tournament, needed only 37 minutes to complete a hat trick.
Meanwhile, the University of San Carlos bagged third place after a 4-3 win over Leylam via shootout after a 1-1 scoreline in regulation.
In the Under 13 semifi nals, Dynamo FC got the first finals slot after outlasting Ateneo de Cebu, 1-0, on a Leberato Quitay goal in the 31st minute. Dynamo FC will face DBTC in the fi nal after Don Bosco beat Giuseppe, 2-1, in the other semifinal.
On the other hand, another player misconduct marred the 18-Under semifi nals between Springdale and Leylam FC. Springdale won the match, 1-0, after Ivan Palmero converted a penalty in the 38th minute.
According to match officials, Leylam had control of most of the match but couldn’t convert on their chances.
In the 80th minute, after center referee Archie Reyes was whistled for a foul, Leylam’s Mars Ramos allegedly threw a stone at him.
The incident was seen by assistant referee Marion Cubelo, who called Reyes over and advised him to give Ramos a red card.
“I wrote the incident in my match report but I cannot reccommend a suspension because it’s up to the organizers,” he said.
Tournament committee member Dino Musni confirmed that he will file a report of the incident and forward it to the Disciplinary Committee of the Cebu Football Association (CFA).
Both Musni and Disciplinary Committee head Atty. Julius Entise were present during the games yesterday. (ML)
