FOLLOWING a successful debut in the biggest stage of MMA, MARK Eddiva once again steps in the octagon as he takes on Brazilian Kevin Souza in his second fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on May 31 in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Eddiva vs. Souza is part of the undercard of the much-anticipated bout between bitter rivals Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva.

Eddiva became the first local Filipino to ever win a fight in the UFC after a one-sided unanimous decision over Chinese star Jumabieke Tuerxun last month in Macau, China.

Souza should be Eddiva’s stiffest test.

Souza has been fighting in the local Brazilian MMA circuit since 2009 before making his mark in the UFC last year. The 29-year-old Souza walked away with a split decision over fellow Brazilian Felipe Arantes in his UFC debut.

Souza is riding an eight fight winning streak that spans from Oct. 2011. He has an impressive 14-3 slate.

The 28-year-old Eddiva, on the other hand, is unbeaten with a 6-0 slate under his belt. He has fought all but one of his fights in the biggest MMA promotion in the Philippines, the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC). He was coming off a three-year layoff before his lopsided win over Tuerxun.
