Mendoza: What to expect in next fight of Mayweather-A A +A

WHO knows Marcos Maidana?
I know Ferdinand Marcos but not Marcos Maidana. Sorry.
All I know is, he is going to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 3 (May 4 Philippine Time) in Las Vegas.
Likewise, I’m pretty sure Maidana, from Argentina, could teach us two things even if he loses this mismatch:
One, how not to fight Mayweather.
Two, how not to win against Mayweather.
Aspiring boxers will learn nothing from this yet another Mayweather farce.
Oh, yes, there’s a third one: How to make Mayweather look good, again, atop the ring.
That has been the story for the last few years: Mayweather doing nothing but reducing his pre-screened foes into punching bags.
But haven’t you noticed? Mayweather was simply nuts in his most recent couple fights?
He stole a knockout win when he punched a foe talking to the referee.
Then he toyed with another who merely stood in front of him to be peppered with vintage Mayweather shotgun shots to the face.
So, if you still continue to be awed at how Mayweather was able to build his 45-0 record, quit it.
He is good, no doubt, but he has also been good in choosing opponents just too willing to trek to the chopping block. No surprise there, too. Mayweather himself now promotes his own fights.
I submit he is the master of defense but I must also add that he has mastered the art of keeping his unbeaten streak intact. How? Pay a foe ready to lose.
Well, if you are nondescript like Maidana, what have you got to lose?
You lose to the “best” fighter on the planet, well, that might yet even qualify as a badge of honor. Not everybody gets the chance to stand in front of Mayweather with gloved hands.
I don’t also know how Maidana would fight Mayweather. I haven’t the faintest idea of how Maidana could come up with a miracle.
But if a miracle should happen in the coming non-fight, it could be that Mayweather, while in a rare brawl charade with Maidana, would suddenly slip in the middle of a round, get his head accidentally hit a post in the neutral corner and lose consciousness.
The referee’s call?
I have seen stranger things happened.
