THE country’s football associations (FA) got a much-needed boost in their knowledge of administration and management with a two-day course set up by Fifa and the Philippine Football Federation (PFF).

Fifa’s Nodar Akhalkatsi along with PFF general-secretary Atty. Edwin Gasranes and PFF technical director Aris Caslib conducted the Fifa MA Course for general-secretaries and technical directors of the country’s different FAs at the Quest Hotel.

The objective of the course is to train participants on management of the FAs in line with the thrust to improve management of football affairs across the country.

“It’s really for total Philippine football. The workshop is to help FAs manage themselves. Total package – management, grassroots, technical. A training on Marketing will follow,” Cebu Football Association (CFA) vice president Rico Navarro told Sun.Star Cebu.

The representatives for CFA are Julius Entise and technical director Mario Ceniza.

Among those to be discussed in the seminar are the Fifa football structure, goals and development and the roles, directions and new statutes of provincial FAs of the PFF.

On the technical side, participants will be taught how to design a technical development plan and how to put the technical department.

“We at the CFA are proud to host this historic event. We pride ourselves in being trailblazers in Philippine football and we hope to join hands with all the other FAs in developing Philippine Football,” wrote CFA in a statement.

This was the first time that Cebu City has hosted a course like this. (EKA)
