EDUARD Folayang’s strength and tenacity earned him a well-deserved unanimous win over former ONE FC lightweight champion Kotetsu Boku last Friday in ONE FC – Rise of Heroes at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
After feeling each other out, Folayang viciously slammed Boku to the canvas. Boku attempted to force Folayang to quit via submission with a gogoplata but to no avail. Folayang also displayed his ground game and attempted an armbar from the top.
Folayang displayed his striking prowess and softened Boku up with some heavy leg kicks. The 29-year-old Philippine MMA posterboy also landed a spinning wheel kick to the head of Boku near the end of the round.
Folayang got the nod of all three judges and improved to 14-4, while the 36-year-old Boku dropped to 21-10-2.
Four other Filipino MMA warriors won their fights making it an unbeaten night for the Philippines.
