THE St. Joseph the Patriarch Parish will hold a fun run—Dagan Alang Sa Simbahan—for the benefit of the church renovation on May 11 in Mabolo, Cebu City.
The fun run will have the 3K, 5K, 10K, and a special 1K category for the senior citizens.
The top three in the men’s and women’s divisions of all categories will get plaques, medals and finishers’ certificates.
Rt. Rev. Msgr. Jose Dosado Jr. said this run was created to promote healthy lifestyle and a church fund-raising as well.
“The Parish of Mabolo will be having its 222nd fiesta celebration on May 18, and we will also officially launch our church renovation. The run will be our initial fund-raising project,” Dosado told reporters at a press conference yesterday.
Race director Kenneth Casquejo said there will be four water stations and two ambulances to ensure the safety of the runners, especially in the sweltering summer temperature.
“The race will have simultaneous gun start at 5 a.m in front of Mabolo Church,” said Casquejo “We are expecting around 1,000 runners and as of now, more than half of that have registered.”
The registration fee is at P250 in all categories, but the student’s and senior citizen’s fees are discounted at P100. The registration fee is inclusive of a race bib and refreshments. Runners can opt to buy the singlet at P160, this is also made available to non-participants to raise more funds for the church.
Registration is on-going until tomorrow at St. Joseph the Patriarch Parish in Mabolo. (RSC)
