Saturday, May 10, 2014
AFTER headlining a small boxing event in their hometown of Maasin City, the brothers Jason and Albert Pagara will headline a Pinoy Pride event next month at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City.
ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer said that the Pagara brothers will be fighting Mexicans in the event. It will be the first time that the unbeaten Albert will face a Mexican fighter.
Jason, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) International light welterweight champion, is off a seventh-round knockout of Indonesian Rusmin Kie Raha, while Albert scored a third-round technical knockout of Skak Max.
“We will get an opponent that will test him. He is ranked fourth (WBO). He will train in the States after this and get exposure there. The 140-pound division is one of the best divisions. We will see how prepared he is and what level he is at right now,” said Aldeguer.
Also slated to see action in the undercard are AJ Banal and Jimrex Jaca. (EKA)
