DBTC bags 16-Under title in Ceres Cup

DON Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) added the Boys 16 title of the 1st Ceres Cup to their huge collection of trophies after beating rival Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) for the top plum in Bacolod City.
DBTC edged out SHS-AdC, 3-2, in penalty shootout. DBTC settled to a 2-2 deadlock with SHS-AdC in regulation, sending the match to a shootout.

DBTC beat San Carlos City, 3-1, in the quarterfinals and then crushed Iloilo, 5-0, to earn a finals spot.

Glen Thomas Ramos was named the Boys 16 division’s MVP. After the win, the DBTC Boys 16 squad competed against older teams in the Boys 18 division.

DBTC defeated Pocket Monster, 3-1, in the semifinals but lost to Barili FC, 4-3, in penalty shootout.

“On the next day, the Don Bosco Boys 16 joined the Boys 18 division for exposure but the team reached the finals,” DBTC head coach Glenn Ramos told Sun.Star Cebu.

Erco FC also grabbed the Girls 18 title of the tournament with May Ann Sollano earning the MVP honor. (EKA)
