Fajardo leads race for Best Player of Conference-A A +A

AT the end of San Miguel Beermen’s elimination round campaign, Cebuano center Junemar Fajardo lead all hopefuls for the Most Valuable Player award.
The former University of Cebu Webmaster is leading all players in both the MVP and Best Player of the Conference award and has sizable margin over his closest rival, the 41-year old Asi Taulava.
In the season’s top individual award, the sophomore Fajardo is leading Tualava 37.57 to 32.28 in statistical points. For the conference’s best player title, the Cebuano giant also lead the Fil-Tongan center 43.78 to 38.44.
“Wala na nako huna-hunaa ang individual award. Una gyud nako gusto maka-tabang unta ko ma-champion ang team, bonus na lang na (MVP and BPC awards),” Fajardo said in a text message to Sun.Star Cebu.
For the 39th season, Fajardo has an average of 16.78 points, 14.14 rebounds, 1.36 assists and 2.11 blocks per game average.
This conference, the 6’10” native of Pinamungahan-Cebu averaged 21.78 points, 16 rebounds and 1.44 in assist and blocks and 0.56 in steals.
Currently, he leads the league in points per game, most points (total of 196) , defensive rebounds per game (9.89), most defensive rebounds (89), offensive rebounds per game (6.11), most offensive rebounds (55), rebounds per game (16.00), most rebounds (144), most double-double games (8), most 2-point FG made (65), most field goal made (65) and most free throws made (66).
