Softball action continues in Sibonga

SOFTBALL action continues to sizzle in the south, as battlers slug it out for the championship title of the 2014 Mayor Lionel Bacaltos Softball Cup at Sibonga, Cebu.

The annual event, which started last June 22 will wrap up on Aug. 3. This year, a new system was instituted and teams were divided into two brackets :the senior A and senior B.

A total of 10 teams joins in the competition with five teams per bracket.

In the bracket A, Team Slasher of Tisa is on top of the standing with a 2-1 win-loss record, Carcar’s Jocam (1-0) is in the second spot, followed by the Vikings (1-1) and Pajo (0-2). The UBros of Consolacion is the last team in this bracket and will play its opening match on Sunday.

The Senior’s B division is led by team Jewelers (2-0) and will be fighting for the title against Team Peralos (1-0), Lagtang (1-1), Guimbangkoan (0-1), and defending champion Sibonga (0-2).

This Sunday, two teams from bracket B will put their unblemished record on the line.

Team Jewelers and Team Peralos are going to duke it out for the bracket’s top spot in the first game.
