Dave, on the other hand, demolished Danilo Gabisay in five rounds but not after overcoming adversity.

Dave was decked by Gabisay in the third round. However, he recovered well and knocked down Gabisay twice in the fourth and the latter was finally counted out in the 1:23 mark of the fifth.

Dave improved to 9-0 with six knockouts, while Gabisay fell to 5-3 with three knockouts.

In the undercard, veterans Bernabe Concepcion (32-6-2, 18 KOs) and Eden Sonsona (32-6-2, 10 KOs) fought to a technical draw.

The bout was stopped after Concepcion suffered a huge gash above the eye following an accidental clash of heads in the third round.
