TWO mixed-martial arts (MMA) veterans are featured in the inaugural show of Cebu Extreme Fight League (CEFL) this month.
Durex Dragons mainstay Johnjier Torbiso faces off with Deftac Dumaguete’s Ervin Musico in one of the featured bouts in the undercard of CEFL’s first event dubbed as “The Beginning” on Aug. 16 at the Cebu Coliseum.
Torbiso and Musico are very experienced fighters and have already seen action in the Philippines’ premier MMA organization – the URCC. However, both haven’t had much success in the big league.
Torbiso lost to Arnel Ylanan by unanimous decision, while Musico dropped a second round stoppage to Moises Nodala on the same URCC Cebu event last year.
The main event of CEFL – “The Beginning” features Yaw-Yan Ardigma’s Lando Nacau takes on Frenchman Paul Carrere.
In the main supporting bout, Yaw-Yan’s Roy Bajar locks horns with Niño Saoy of Tatus Muay Thai and MMA.
In the undercard, Ranran Lugo takes on Etan Badayos, John Dunlap is up against Tonilee Castro and David Po trades leathers with Micahel Rabayos.
Meanwhile, there will be two special fights – a ladies match between Yaw-Yan’s Angel Sanchez and Durex’s Bridgette Torbiso, and a kid’s bout between Ken Caniga and Dexter Sanchez.
The event will be shown on delayed telecast via SkyCable Channel 61. The event is sponsored by Nissan, IPI and HASI fight wear. Tickets are pegged at P300 for VIP seats, P200 for lower box and P100 for upperbox.
