Sykes ends slide, crushes Bullies in E-Leagues-A A +A

THE Sykes Pioneers arrested a three-game losing streak with a morale-boosting, 88-41, win over the Microsourcing Bullies in the elimination round of the 2014 CSCC E-Leagues Season 10 at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym last Saturday.
The Pioneers dropped an 18-8 bomb in the opening quarter then added another 22-7 blitz in the second period to put the game away for good.
Reggy Sultan fired 21 points, Ricardo Masiglat Jr. made 14 and Rey Lepardo had 12. Ray Castañares added 11 points and a season-best 11 assists to help Sykes recover and improve to 2-5. Carlson Alegrado made 13, Don Paco had 12 and Mark Ersan sank 10 in Microsourcing’s seventh straight loss.
Lexmark Stallions used a 28-10 run in the first quarter to beat Calltek Trojans, 69-37, and improve to 5-2 in the team standings.
Sylvester Millevo made 15 points and Ralph Loren Martinez scattered 14 points for Lexmark, while Mark Louise Gellez topscored for Calltek’s fifth loss in seven games with 11 points.
Convergys 1 Wolves banked on a 23-11 blast in the second quarter for a 76-67 win against 1&1 Marauders.
After a closely fought opening quarter, the Wolves suddenly broke the game wide open following a second quarter outburst that gave them a 42-28 lead at the half.
1&1 tried to overcome the 14-point deficit but all they could do was cut it to a single digit in the final buzzer.
Convergys 1 displayed a well-balanced offense as 13 of its players contributed at least two points with Kinnlot Mandawe leading the way with nine points. Convergys improved to 6-1, while Jan Gabest had the game-high 20 points in 1&1’s fourth loss in six outings.
In the other match, the Teleperformance Kings picked an effortless win after 7 Cagers decided to forfeit the match.
