THE Cebu Dragons are raring to see action this weekend in the Manila 10s International Rugby Tournament at the Nomad Sports Club in Merville Village, Parañaque City, Metro Manila.
After an early exit last year, the Cebu Dragons' spirits are high for this edition and they are looking for a better finish this time around.
"This is our eighth year. We did not do to well last year as we got knocked out in the first game of the Sunday knockouts by an Australian team. But given the time the guys have developed as individual players and overall as a team, compared to last year we look a lot stronger and will be going in with a lot of confidence," said Dragons team captain Jerry Branzuela.
The Dragons squad for this tournament is composed of Branzuela, Winston Maniat, Lamech Abel, Geoffrey Veraces, Peter Sawal, Hillary Corban, Marlo Luceno, Rey Apostol, Napoleon Ilofa, Christian Buscas, William Harris, Daryl Alcantara, Junerey Boybanting and David Quimjot.
"Our preparation went fairly well. A lot of guys from last year are in the squad and boosted with some Paradise Hunters who played for the Dragons before. It made training easier since everyone is familiar with the system with the added muscle," said Branzuela.
