FACING Filipino fighters in their next assignment, the Moloney twins ironically turn to the Philippines for quality sparring, making the famed ALA Gym here in Cebu their home for the next two weeks.

Andrew and Jason started sparring at the ALA Gym on Monday. Bantamweight Andrew sparred with former world title challenger Arthur Villanueva, while super bantamweight Jason faced off with young up-and-comers Virgel Vitor and Raul Yu.

“Yes (they came here) for quality sparring and conditioning training,” ALA Gym chief trainer Edito Villamor told SunStar Cebu. “They are very good fighters, they are warriors.”

This is the second time that the Moloney twins have trained at the ALA Gym. They trained here in Cebu in 2015.

Andrew will be up against Renoel Pael, while Jason will take on Marco Demecillo in a couple of eight-rounders in North Adelaide, Australia.

Aside from having trained with Filipinos, both have beaten three Filipino fighters each last year.

Andrew beat the likes of former world title challenger Jether Oliva, Markquil Salvana and Chris Alfante, while Jason defeated Virden Rivera, Jeffrey Francisco and Gerpaul Valero, Pael and Demecillo stablemate.

Andrew has an impressive 11-0 slate with seven knockouts, while Jason has an identical 11-0 record with 10 knockouts.
