DON Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) enters the semifinals with a veneer of invincibility after sweeping the elimination round of the secondary division of this year’s Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation (Cesafi). They routed the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF), 7-0, yesterday in the Cebu City Sports Center.
Christian Pacaña had a brace for the Greywolves, hitting the back of the net in the seventh and 42nd minutes. Jeremy Laro scored the other first half goal in the 16th minute.
In the second half, Eric Orale was moved up from defense to the forward position and also scored a brace late in the match. Midfielder Thomas Ramos and Miguel Mercader also added a goal each in the second half.
“We have trained hard for this since summer. We want to take it back this year because we lost last year,” said DBTC goalkeeper and skipper Joseph Kei Ceniza, who has never conceded a single goal this season.
“Last summer we started preparing, after the Palaro. We are lucky that we are intact, the Palaro players, we have seven players. We really prepared for this. Since the start of the Cesafi this season, I said that we have to score more goals considering the goal difference. We are the top 1 this season, so we will do our best in tomorrow’s game in the semifinals and hope to reach the finals,” said DBTC head coach Glen Ramos. (EKA)
