24 boxers join Cebu Amateur Boxing Revival

TWENTY-FOUR brave and aspiring amateur boxers will again take center stage as they trade leathers in the 5th installment of the bi-monthly Cebu Amateur Boxing Revival, which moves to the Talisay City Sports and Cultural Complex in Poblacion, Talisay City on Sunday.

Eight fighters from The A Gym, four each from the Cebu City Sports Center Boxing Gym and Wakee Boxing Gym, three from 10,000 BC, two each from the Phil-Aust Boxing Gym and Big Yellow Boxing Club and one from the Labogon Boxing Club will see action in the heart of Aqua City, as part of its sports entertainment night for the fiesta of its patron saint, St. Rita de Avila, on Oct. 13 and 14.

Highlighting the event will be the match between Berland Robles of 10,000 BC and Benny Cañete of the A Gym in the main match under the 52kgs Juniors/Experienced division match.

Also expected to give a good show are Clark Sanchez of A Gym and Jimpol Dignos of Phil-Aust in the 47kgs.; John Niño Vega also of A Gym against Jeffre Jimenez of CSCC Gym in the 46kgs match; and Romel Castañares of A Gym against Johnro Tanao of CCSC Gym in the 50kgs match, all under the Juniors/Experience category.
