LAST season’s runner-up Minglanilla Archangels will get another shot at the title after beating the defending champion Talisay City Aquastars, 96-87, in the semifinals of the Samsam Gullas Cup Season 2 at the Minglanilla Sports Complex last Tuesday.
The 15-year-old Steve Nash Enriquez was again unstoppable scoring 32 points, seven steals, three rebounds and two assists to lead Minglanilla to its second consecutive finals appearance.
Edriane Laspuña added 13 points and Clint Carl Basister chipped in 12 points for the Archangels.
Bruce Dale Tan led erstwhile Talisay City with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Aaron Jeff Bucao handed 17 points.
San Fernando Spartans advanced to the finals after a pulsating 85-83 win over City of Naga Electrifiers in the separate semis at the Enan Chiong Acitivity Center in City of Naga also last Tuesday.
JhonsonKhen Saramosing finished with 19 points including the game-clinching shot that sealed the win for the Spartans.
Saramosing, who was named the best player of the game, also had eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block.
San Fernando’s Shaun Keith Toquera had 21 points and Jhon Carl Soreso added 16.
Keith Rainer Visayas had an explosive 26 points and Runill Navales added 15 for City of Naga. (RSC)
