Bautista, Barrera rev up word war

ALEJANDRO Barrera didn’t mince words when he arrived in Cebu City last Monday—he wants to knock out Rey Bautista in their rematch this Saturday at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino.
It seems Barrera, who said Bautista has a glass chin and will be knocked out in five rounds, is getting into Bautista’s head.
“We’ll just see what happens this Saturday so he won’t keep on saying that I don’t have a sturdy jaw,” Bautista said in the final press conference yesterday. “He got knocked out by an opponent who has 23 losses while (they guy who beat me) was a world champion. So who has the more sturdy jaw?” Bautista said.
Bautista was referring to Carlos Urias, a 37-year-old who has a 42-23 record who beat Barrera in the first round last year. Bautista also lost in the first round to Daniel Ponce de Leon in 2007 and De Leon also helped Barrera prepare for this rematch.
Bautista said he is unaffected by that.
“I like that Daniel Ponce De Leon helped Barrera because it stoked my anger against Daniel Ponce De Leon,” he said.
